The Next Seattle: A Maritime Rockumentary

So much nostalgia tied up in this documentary. I appear in a CKDU file photo at 11:14, presumably from when I was chair of the board. Crazy to remember those days. It’s interesting to me that I never wanted to be a musician and don’t think of myself as particularly involved in music and yet it’s been such a huge thing in my life: my time at choir camps and working for the NS Choral Fed, my time at CKDU on the board and hosting Spinsters On Air with Kate and Louise and others, my time in the ‘boro with the Victor Furious crew & now living in Music City (no involvement whatsoever in the music scene here but I still get to see amazing acts and it’s kind of this background thing just like it always was living in the Maritimes). It’s weird to think how music is becoming much less of a cultural force than it was in the second half of the 20th century. Anyway, if you were an HFX peep back in the day this is a lot of fun to watch.
